Seaford Community Garden

Gardens

Some of our recent garden projects. Inspired by what you see? It’s only the beginning!

Community Garden

Our Community ground beds are for local families, restaurants and organizations who want to grow food.  Growers enjoy the benefits of automated spill & drip irrigation systems which water mornings and evenings to help ensure healthy and consistent crop growth. To promote communication, connectivity within our community of growers, our gardening area has tables and benches to relax on and enjoy the beautiful garden views.

Private beds are rented individually. Growing in within bed and vertical only.

This is a lottery based system and current residents must reapply yearly.

The Community Garden is located on west side of North Pearl St off High St

Cost is approximately $1.20 per square foot for each garden ground bed.

Bed size options are:

3x4'

4x5'

3x8'

4x10'

Giving Garden

The mission of the Giving Garden is to teach, grow, harvest & provide to local homeless shelters, Veterans, nursing homes and more, within the Seaford Community.

Your sponsorship of a 4'x18' Ground Row Garden for a year supports a 72 sq. ft. area of space for healthy, local, fresh food. The fruits of this labor will be given to local organizations in need.

Grow with Us

We will seed, plant and care for each sponsored row; feel free to bring your employees down to help us grow. When your employees choose to volunteer with us, they can take home freshly harvested items from the day they participate.

Our NPO 501(c)(3) is a volunteer-based program. Your sponsorship will help provide the garden with seeds, soil, irrigation, and the tools needed to help the garden grow.

Veterans Garden

Our Veterans Gardens are our way of giving back to those that have done so much for our country and our community. Garden beds are free to our local Veterans and feature ADA (Americans With Disabilities Act) garden beds and pathways for those who've returned from service without the use of their limbs. Raised beds make it easier to reach the soil and plants and easy-to-access pathways provide ample space for those in wheelchairs or other assisted mobility devices.

Located at 214 High St Seaford, cross road North Pearl Street, these gardens also featuring a public chess and checker table, benches and a mobile library box to provide a serene place for Veterans to connect with each other and other gardeners. Public benches are another welcoming touch to the Veterans Garden, which also has native pollinating gardening spaces.

Again, these garden beds are free to local Veterans and are Lottery based with yearly applications open in January for that growing year.
